Custom Merch for Conferences & Corporate Events in Sydney

Corporate events are one of the few times your brand gets to be physical — on a shirt, a tote, a lanyard, something someone actually carries around Sydney for the rest of the day. Done well, event merch extends your brand well past the venue. Done poorly, it ends up in a hotel bin by 6pm. Here's how to make sure yours is the former.

What to Actually Order

Not every conference needs the same merch mix. It usually comes down to the role the item plays on the day:

  • Staff and speaker apparel — polos, quarter-zips, or embroidered shirts that make your team identifiable at a glance. This overlaps a lot with what we cover in our business merch printing guide, which is worth a read if this is your first time ordering for a whole team.

  • Attendee giveaways — tote bags, tees, or caps that people will actually want to keep and use again, not just take because it's free.

  • Premium items for VIPs or speakers — a step up in quality (heavier fabric, embroidered rather than printed) for the smaller group you want to make a stronger impression on.

Screen Print, DTF, or Embroidery?

For a corporate event, the right method usually comes down to quantity and finish:

  • Large attendee runs of the same design → screen printing, for the best per-unit cost

  • A handful of different roles or last-minute headcount changes → DTF, since there's no setup cost per design

  • Staff polos, caps, or anything that needs a premium, long-lasting finish → embroidery

If you're not sure which fits your event, our embroidery vs screen printing guide is a good starting point before you lock in numbers.

How Far Ahead to Book

Corporate and conference bookings tend to have a fixed date that can't move, so timing matters more here than almost any other order type. As a rule of thumb, get your order in as early as possible once headcount and branding are confirmed — production and any garment sourcing needs to happen well before the event, not the week of. If your event is genuinely last-minute, ask about same-day printing for smaller top-up runs.

Getting the Branding Right

Conference merch is often the first physical thing a prospect or client sees from your company, so it's worth getting the artwork right before it goes to print — a logo that looks fine on a screen doesn't always translate cleanly onto fabric. Small placement and sizing issues are easy to avoid; they're some of the same issues we walk through in our t-shirt design mistakes guide.

Merch People Actually Keep

The best event merch doesn't scream "conference giveaway." A well-fitted tee, a decent quality tote, or a cap in a colour someone would actually wear again outlasts a cheap polyester shirt that's binned by the end of the week. If budget allows, spending slightly more on fewer, better items usually gets more brand mileage than a large run of something disposable.
